Voss Checkout
Custom checkout domain

Can your Shopify checkout use a custom domain? First decide which checkout you mean.

A store domain, Shopify's native checkout experience and a separate external checkout can all use different domain setups. The right answer depends on which layer you are changing.

Store domain vs checkout domain

Your storefront might live at your branded domain while the checkout follows Shopify's own checkout rules. An external checkout can instead use a separate branded subdomain such as checkout.yourstore.com.

What DNS does

DNS points the branded checkout subdomain to the service hosting the checkout. That does not move your storefront or products; it only controls where that checkout hostname resolves.

How Voss handles it

Voss supports custom checkout domains. The merchant can keep Shopify on the existing store domain while using a branded checkout subdomain for the Voss checkout.
