Can a brand-new Shopify store use an external checkout?
Yes. You do not need to be a high-revenue store to use an external checkout such as Voss. What matters is whether your business is eligible for the connected payment platform and whether you test the full order flow before sending customers to it.

You do not need an established sales history to understand the setup
Voss can be configured on a new Shopify store as well as an established one. Shopify remains the storefront and fulfillment system, while Voss handles the external checkout connected to the merchant's Whop account.
What a new store should test first
- Add a real product and variant to the cart.
- Confirm shipping and discounts calculate correctly.
- Confirm the correct currency reaches checkout.
- Run a controlled test payment flow.
- Confirm successful payments create exactly one Shopify order.
- Check Meta or TikTok events before spending heavily on ads.
New store does not mean automatic payment approval
Whop and other payment platforms have their own verification, risk and eligibility rules. An external checkout changes the checkout architecture; it does not guarantee that every business or product category will be approved.
When Voss makes sense for a new store
Voss can make sense from day one if you already know you want Shopify for products and fulfillment while using your own Whop account for the payment side. Because Voss has no monthly software fee, a new store does not need to justify a fixed subscription before it starts processing.
Keep the store you built. Add the checkout you want.
Connect Shopify and Whop, test the full flow, then choose when you want to send live traffic through it.
