Stripe alternatives · Shopify stores
Need a Stripe alternative? You don't need to rebuild your Shopify store.
Choose a payment setup that actually fits your business. Compare Shopify-supported providers with a separate checkout that uses your own Whop account—and see the real Voss experience before you decide.
Whop processing fees are separate. Payment eligibility and payouts are controlled by Whop.
Products, cart and fulfillment stay on Shopify.
Your connected, eligible Whop business processes the payment.
Confirmed paid orders sync for the normal fulfillment workflow.
Replacing a processor and replacing a checkout are different decisions.
If you only need another processor, first check the payment providers that Shopify supports for your store and country. If you also want more control over the checkout itself, Voss offers a separate path: Shopify for your storefront, your Whop business for payments, and paid orders synced back.
A Stripe account restriction does not automatically mean another provider will accept the same business. Be accurate about your products, legal entity and processing history with every provider.
Three realistic alternatives for a Shopify seller
| Route | Best when | What changes | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| A supported Shopify payment provider | You want to keep Shopify's existing checkout experience. | You configure a provider that is available for your business and region. | Country, products, approval, payment methods, payout terms and total costs. |
| Voss Checkout + Whop | You want to keep Shopify but use an external branded checkout and an eligible Whop account. | Customers move through Voss at checkout; confirmed paid orders return to Shopify. | Whop account eligibility, currencies, shipping, discounts, order sync and tracking. |
| Different commerce platform | Your business requirements no longer fit Shopify itself. | Products, storefront and operational workflows may need migration. | Migration work, new payment eligibility and fulfillment integrations. |
This is a practical comparison, not a provider ranking. Available providers vary by store and country. Voss is an independent product, not a Stripe or Shopify-endorsed gateway.

Is Voss worth considering for your store?
No email required. Answer two questions to see the sensible next step, not an automated payment approval.
Choose one answer to each question to see your next step.
What does Voss cost?
$0 monthly. $0 setup.
Voss charges 0.5% per successfully processed order. Whop processing fees are separate. Read the full pricing details →
Approval is never automatic.
Whop sets its own acceptance, payout, dispute and review requirements. Voss cannot recover a Stripe-held balance or guarantee uninterrupted processing.
Questions Shopify sellers ask before switching
Can I use Voss instead of Stripe without changing my storefront?
Yes, for a suitable Shopify business with an eligible connected Whop account. Your Shopify storefront remains in place, but the checkout experience is external, so test any checkout-dependent apps and buyer flows.
Is Voss a native Shopify payment gateway?
No. It is an external checkout system. That distinction matters for compatibility with native checkout extensions, certain wallets and Shopify-only checkout tools.
Will Whop accept me if Stripe rejected my business?
Not necessarily. The processors make independent eligibility and risk decisions. A prohibited or misrepresented business is not an acceptable use case; always disclose your real activity.
Where do I start if Stripe actually closed my account?
First read the reason for closure and request a review if Stripe made an error. We wrote a separate checklist for that situation: Stripe account closed? What to do next →
Verify before sending paid traffic
- Confirm that Whop supports your true business, jurisdiction and products.
- Connect Shopify and Whop, then install and verify the Voss storefront connection.
- Test checkout, shipping, taxes, discounts and an actual successful payment.
- Verify the paid order appears once in Shopify, then check the tracking events you use.
