Missing payment methods

Payment methods missing from your Shopify + Whop checkout?

A checkout can be connected and still show fewer payment methods than you expected. Here's how to isolate shopper eligibility, account configuration, browser support and checkout-session issues before changing your store.

First: what exactly is missing?

A method not appearing is different from a method failing after the buyer clicks it. Write down the method, shopper country, payment amount and currency, browser/device, and whether card entry appears. This evidence quickly separates method eligibility from a broken payment session.

Five checks that save the most time

  1. Check the buyer country. A shopper in one market may see a different method list from someone elsewhere. Don't assume local methods appear globally.
  2. Check your connected Whop business. Account verification, product eligibility and provider settings can affect which methods are offered. The method list comes from the payment provider and shopper context—not from a universal Voss switch.
  3. Wait for a valid final amount. Shipping, discounts and currency need to be calculated before a payment session can accurately represent the amount due. Test a low-priced item with delivery, as well as a normal cart.
  4. Check the actual device and browser. Express wallets depend on compatible platforms, payment credentials and secure context. Test the same cart in a standard browser and an in-app browser if you run social ads.
  5. Look for a specific error. “No method available,” “could not prepare payment,” and “authorization failed” indicate different stages. Record the checkout reference and timestamp rather than repeatedly attempting to pay.

Do Apple Pay, Google Pay, iDEAL or Bancontact always appear?

No. Whop advertises card and express wallet support in its payment components, but that does not mean every merchant and buyer combination is eligible for every wallet or regional method. For iDEAL, Bancontact and other local methods, verify current Whop availability for the merchant account, buyer location and currency before promising a customer they can use them.

Voss cannot force a provider to display an ineligible payment method. A method being absent from a test environment also does not, by itself, prove it will be offered in production.

Using Voss with your own Whop business

Voss provides the external checkout interface and verifies totals before payment. Whop determines the eligible payment methods for the connected business and buyer. If the Voss payment section repeatedly fails to prepare despite a valid cart, contact Voss support with the checkout reference and steps to reproduce it—we should help investigate the integration rather than making you guess.
