SHOPIFY PRICING RULES · VOSS CHECKOUT
Keep your Shopify shipping, taxes and discounts. Change your checkout.
Your store already has shipping rates, tax rules and discount codes. Voss uses Shopify's own cart calculations for the buyer's address, products and market—then lets an eligible Whop business take the verified payment. No second shipping-rate setup for normal Shopify rates.
Whop processing fees are separate. Payment eligibility and payouts are controlled by Whop.
Products, cart and fulfillment stay on Shopify.
Your connected, eligible Whop business processes the payment.
Confirmed paid orders sync for the normal fulfillment workflow.
Your store decides the price. Voss makes checkout work with it.
Switching from Shopify's native checkout raises an obvious question: What happens to my shipping methods, taxes and discounts? With Voss, the checkout gets its pricing context from Shopify's Storefront Cart API. Shopify remains the source for the cart, selected shipping option and applicable amounts.
Voss supplies the branded checkout, connects the quoted amount to your own Whop business, and synchronizes successfully paid orders back to Shopify.
Everything important stays connected to Shopify
Shopify shipping rates, not made-up fees
Shopify supplies the available delivery options for the buyer's address. Customers select an eligible rate inside Voss checkout; the Shopify quote updates accordingly.
Taxes calculated by your Shopify store
The quote includes Shopify's tax total based on your store's settings, the cart and the buyer context. No separate, invented Voss tax percentage.
Your eligible Shopify discount codes
Shoppers enter a code and Shopify evaluates it. Voss displays the returned discount or a clear invalid/ineligible message.
Shopify Markets-aware currencies
The quoted cart's currency follows the applicable Shopify storefront/market context, subject to Whop payment eligibility.
Address and cart changes stay connected
Changing country, shipping option, discount or an optional Shopify-product order bump can refresh the Shopify-backed cart quote before payment.
Charge the verified total
Voss compares quote items, shipping, discount, tax and total against payment-session state rather than trusting a browser-entered amount. Unverifiable changes cannot simply be charged.
How Shopify calculates a Voss checkout
Start with your actual Shopify items
Voss reads variant IDs, quantities, current prices and the buyer's market/currency context instead of relying on a manually copied product catalog.
Fetch eligible Shopify shipping
Once address details are available, Shopify can return delivery groups and rate options. The shopper selects an offered shipping method; rates may change if their destination changes.
Ask Shopify what applies
Discount codes are sent to Shopify for validation; tax and any applicable discount amounts come back in the Shopify cart quote. An invalid code is not treated as a discount.
Check the money before charging
Voss checks that the cart, selected shipping and final quote match the amount/currency prepared for Whop. Verified paid orders then return to Shopify for fulfillment.

What if the customer changes their address or applies a code?
Voss does not freeze a product subtotal as the final payment amount. Changing the buyer country or address, available shipping method or discount can change shipping cost, tax, eligible discounts and total. Voss updates the Shopify-backed quote and checks the resulting payment state. For an address or rate that Shopify cannot quote, Voss should not invent a shipping price.
That matters especially for stores using multiple shipping zones, free-shipping thresholds, product discounts and Shopify Markets. The precise outcome depends on your store's configured rules and what Shopify returns.
Realistic examples of Shopify rules
Free vs. paid shipping
If Shopify returns a free rate, Voss can display the zero-priced option. Paid rates follow Shopify's returned amount; the selected rate affects the verified checkout total.
Discount code eligibility
A valid code may reduce the price, while an expired, restricted or ineligible code receives Shopify's applicable status rather than being blindly accepted.
International buyer
A buyer changing delivery country can change the available Shopify shipping options, tax result and market currency. Check Whop currency/payment eligibility separately.
Add-on changes
When a shopper accepts a Voss checkout order bump, Voss uses a real Shopify product variant and updates the cart quote, including relevant shipping, tax and discounts.
Test these cases on your store before going live
Check your actual shipping zones and rates, free shipping, shipping-address changes, tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive setups, discount restrictions, Shopify Markets currencies and any checkout-specific apps. Shopify gift cards and native checkout extensions are not guaranteed to transfer to a separate checkout.

Shopify shipping, taxes and discounts: FAQs
Does Voss Checkout support Shopify shipping rates, taxes and discount codes?
Yes. Voss uses Shopify's Storefront Cart API for the relevant quote: buyer-address shipping options, Shopify tax amounts, applicable discount codes and market-specific currency. Voss displays the resulting amounts in its external checkout and validates the final amount before payment. The store's actual configured rules determine availability.
Does Voss use Shopify's shipping rates or create separate shipping prices?
Voss reads delivery groups and available rates from Shopify for the customer's shipping address. The buyer chooses an available option and Voss updates the Shopify cart selection and amount. Merchants do not need to recreate ordinary Shopify shipping rates in Voss. Shipping eligibility and available methods depend on the shop and destination.
Does Shopify calculate the taxes in Voss Checkout?
Voss reads the Shopify cart's calculated tax amount for the buyer's address and cart. It does not substitute its own invented tax rate. Tax outcomes depend on your Shopify tax settings, products, customer and jurisdiction.
Do my existing Shopify discount codes work with Voss Checkout?
Applicable Shopify discount codes can be entered in Voss. Voss sends the code to Shopify, checks whether Shopify marks it applicable, and uses Shopify's discount amounts. Invalid or ineligible codes are not treated as successful discounts. Not every type of Shopify promotion, gift card or checkout app extension is guaranteed to work.
Can Voss apply discounts to shipping?
Voss reads Shopify cart discount allocations, including shipping-targeted allocations. Its payment and Shopify-order accounting checks that the discount amounts can be safely represented and reconciled. Test combinations such as free shipping, multi-item discounts, taxes and international currencies in your own store.
Are shipping, taxes and discounts updated after an address or cart change?
Yes. Voss re-quotes relevant Shopify cart changes such as buyer country/address, shipping selection, discount code and optional order bumps. The quote and payment state are checked for correctness. A new Shopify quote may take time, and an invalid or unrepresentable combination must not silently result in the wrong charge.
Does Voss keep Shopify Markets currencies?
Voss carries the Shopify cart's market-contextual buyer currency and checks it against the payment amount. Whop handles eligible payment processing, so actual currency and payment-method availability depend on the connected business and provider support.
Is Voss a Shopify payment gateway or a replacement checkout?
Voss is a separate Shopify-connected checkout, not a payment gateway installed in Shopify Settings > Payments. Your Shopify storefront and fulfillment remain in Shopify, an eligible connected Whop business processes the payment, and Voss synchronizes verified paid orders back to Shopify.
Do I need Shopify Plus to use Voss shipping and discounts?
No Shopify Plus checkout UI extension is required because Voss operates an external checkout. Merchants still need a supported Shopify store, correct Storefront API setup and an eligible Whop business. Test the exact shipping and tax configurations you sell with.
Does Voss promise exactly the same behavior as every native Shopify checkout app?
No. Shopify-based price, tax, shipping and discount quoting is supported, but native checkout-only apps, Shop Pay, gift cards, custom scripts and specialized promotions may not transfer to an external checkout. Test all the combinations your buyers rely on before switching live traffic.
